The original Rummikub has been gracing game tables for over thirty years and still shows no sign of slowing down! This game is akin to the card game Rummy, where players are trying to collect runs of cards and matching number sets. Players must try to discard all tiles in their hand by organizing sets of three to four number tiles of a kind, or by forming runs of three or more tiles. Submited By: Nickie Enochs on 03/09/2005 This game is my All-Time Favorite. I never get bored of it, because every game is different. It's like Rummy but with a twist! Each player gets tiles that the other players can't see. You place your melded tiles (3 or more) on the table. Melded tiles can be a run of 1-13 all the same color, or 4 of a kind all different colors. Now the twist....you can manipulate the tiles already in play on the table in order to get rid of your tiles. Move tiles around, separate melds, steal a tile, do whatever it takes to play sometimes just one tile. Can't play anything, you'll have to take a tile from the reserved tiles. There are 2 Wild tiles, that make it even more interesting to play. Try to be the first one to get rid of all your tiles. I recommend using a small drawstring bag for the reserved tiles. This makes it easier than having to spread them out (face down) all over the table. It also helps to know whose turn it is, because you'll get so engrossed manipulating the tiles in your head, you'll forget what day it is, let alone whose turn it is! Just pass the bag of tiles when you're down with your turn. This is the second game of Rimmikub I've owned. The first one got used so much the box fell apart. Plus the 4 tile trays in this game are far superior to the older version. Your tiles won't fall off these ones, like they did in the old one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
