Once Upon a Time is a great game for fostering creativity in kids. Play this game with your daughter, and you will be amazed at what incredible stories she can come up with. I have mostly played this game with adults and we have had a great time. In the store I have had parents come in and tell me they are playing this as part of family game night, and that it is a huge success. This game is best for people with a dramatic flair. Part of the art of story-telling is funny voices, after all. Play works like this:
You get a handful of story cards and 1 “Happily Ever After “ card. Each person has a different ending, and your goal is to get rid of all of your cards and play your ending. Well, actually, the goal is to tell a good story, and the game play is secondary. You can tell any story you want, and you are not limited to the cards in your hand. If you mention something in your story that another player has a card for, they can interrupt and pick up the story. There are also special “Interrupt” cards that allow a player to interrupt any player when they play a corresponding card. Play continues around the table until someone can play their Happily Ever After Card.
